Undo & backups

Before PressHelm changes anything, it saves how it was. You can put any change back from Telegram, your chat app or WordPress.

What is saved#

ChangeWhat undo restores
Pages and postsTitle, content, status and excerpt (also block and builder edits)
SettingsEvery setting changed in that step, exactly
Images and mediaThe exact original files and sizes, the same id and address
Categories and tagsDeleted or merged terms with the same ids, their posts, child terms and menu links
ProductsThe whole product, including variations
Files and themesA snapshot of the files or theme folder
Database rowsEvery affected row, written back exactly
PluginsInstalled: removed again. Updated: previous files restored. Deleted: brought back.

How to undo#

  • Tap Undo on the receipt after a reply.
  • Say “undo that” or “put the old homepage back”.
  • Send /undo to see recent changes you can undo.
  • For a whole plan: “undo this task” puts every step back, newest first.
  • In WordPress: PressHelm → Activity → Backup & rollback lists every saved change with Put this back.
Your Telegram bot
Hmm, I liked the old hero better. Undo that.
Approval needed: mysite.com
Undo: “Edit page Home” (10:42)
  • Recovery: the page goes back to how it was before that change

Automatic rollback#

After every change, PressHelm loads your site and checks it still works. If the change broke it (a PHP fatal error, a page that no longer loads, broken blocks), every part of that change is undone at once and you are told what happened.

What cannot be undone#

  • An email that was sent (for example a test email).
  • Running a scheduled WordPress task now.
  • Actions done by other plugins through their own API (the card says so).
  • The AI cost of a request, such as making an image.

Image backups are kept for 30 days.
