Approvals

Changes that matter wait for you. The approval card shows exactly what will change, what it affects and how to undo it, and nothing runs until you tap Approve.

Anatomy of an approval card#

Approval needed: mysite.com
Convert 3 image(s) to WebP: #21, #22, #23
Links to them in your pages are updated; the old files stay on the server.
Target
3 image(s) and the pages that show them
Impact
The images become WebP files (smaller, faster pages); links to them in post content and Elementor are rewritten.
Recovery
One undo puts every image, link and page back.
Reason
Faster product pages.
ApproveDeny
  • What: the exact change, with ids and values.
  • Target: what is touched.
  • Impact: what visitors or the site will notice.
  • Recovery: how it is undone (or a clear warning when something cannot be undone, like sending an email).
  • Reason: the assistant’s own explanation, labelled as such.

What needs approval#

Kind of actionExamplesDefault
ReadsRead a page, list products, inspect email setup, speed testRuns at once
Small, safe changesUpload a file to the media library, add a categoryRuns at once (you can make them ask)
ChangesEdit a page, change settings, edit an image, install a pluginAsks you
Risky changesDelete media, merge categories, database edits, undoAsks you, marked as higher risk

You decide per area in PressHelm → Settings → Permissions & security: leave an area as it is, make it always ask, or turn it off. See Safety & permissions.

Approving#

  • Telegram: tap Approve or Deny on the card. Or type /approve CODE / /deny CODE with the code shown on the card. /approve alone lists what is waiting.
  • Claude / ChatGPT: open the link the assistant shows and approve in your WordPress admin.
  • An approval is for exactly what was shown. If anything changed in between, it is refused.
  • Approvals expire after 30 minutes. Just ask again if you still want it.
The AI can never approve itself

The AI cannot press Approve. Approvals come only from your linked Telegram account or your WordPress admin, and each is used once.

When a change failed its check#

If a change broke the site and was rolled back, PressHelm will not simply try the same thing again. For 24 hours it only runs again with your explicit approval, and the card warns you what failed last time.

Still stuck? Ask PressHelm itself in your chat, it knows this manual's tools, or write to hello@presshelmai.com. Last updated 2026-10-18.
