Create your Telegram bot
Your developer lives in your own Telegram bot, with your own name and picture. It answers only you, and setup takes about a minute.
Create the bot#
Open BotFather#
In Telegram, search for @BotFather (the official bot with the blue check) and press Start.
Send /newbot#
Choose a display name (for example “My Site Developer”) and a username that ends in
bot(for examplemysite_dev_bot).Copy the token#
BotFather replies with a token like
123456789:AA…. Copy it.Paste it in WordPress#
Paste the token in the setup’s Telegram bot step. PressHelm checks it and shows Bot @yourbot verified.
Link your Telegram account#
After connecting to PressHelm Cloud, the setup asks you to open your bot and press Start. Back in WordPress you approve that Telegram account. From then on your bot answers only you; anyone else who finds it gets nothing.
Approve only an account that is really yours. Only the approved account can give instructions to your bot.
Make it yours#
In BotFather you can set the bot’s picture (/setuserpic), description and about text. It is your bot: give it your agency’s name if you build sites for clients.
What you can send#
- Text: anything, in your own words, in any language your AI model understands.
- Photos and screenshots: “put this photo on the About page”, or a screenshot of a problem.
- Files up to 20 MB: images, PDF, CSV, JSON, XML, ZIP, Excel, Word. Say what they are for in the same message.
- Links: to a page to copy the style of, a CSV to import, a plugin to look at.
