Image editing & WebP

Resize, crop and compress images in place, or convert them to WebP for faster pages. It runs on your own server, costs nothing in AI, and every edit can be undone exactly.

See what would help#

For any images PressHelm shows dimensions, file size, the weight of all generated sizes, and suggestions: “very large: resize to 1920 px”, “heavy file: recompress”, “WebP would be 25-35% smaller”. It also tells you whether your server can make WebP.

Resize, crop, compress#

  • Crop to a ratio (16:9, 1:1, 4:5, …), centred, or to an exact box in pixels.
  • Shrink to fit a maximum width or height (it never enlarges).
  • Quality 30-100 for JPEG and WebP; 75-82 is a good balance for the web.

The image keeps its id and address, so every page shows the result. All sizes are regenerated. Undo puts the original back byte for byte.

Convert to WebP#

Convert up to 20 JPEG or PNG images at once. Each keeps its id; its sizes are regenerated as WebP; links to it in your page content and Elementor layouts are updated. The old files stay on the server, so links from other websites keep working. One undo puts every image, link and page back.

Page caches and browsers may show the old images for a while after a change. Ask PressHelm to clear the cache if you want it at once.
